We’re doing something a little different this time! We’re reading two shorter book selections by renowned children’s author Roald Dahl. “Matilda” is about a sweet, exceptional young girl whose parents are the worst. She expects school to be different, but there she has to face Miss Trunchbull, a menacing, kid-hating headmistress. When Matilda is attacked by the Trunchbull, she suddenly discovers she has a remarkable power with which to fight back. It'll take a superhuman genius to give Miss Trunchbull what she deserves, and Matilda may be just the one to do it! “Boy” is about Dahl’s own childhood. As full of excitement and the unexpected as his world-famous, best-selling books, Roald Dahl's tales of his own childhood are completely fascinating and fiendishly funny. Did you know that Roald Dahl nearly lost his nose in a car accident? Or that he was once a chocolate candy tester for Cadbury's? This book will give you a peek into the early life of this fantastic writer. Ask for them at the circulation counter. New members are always welcome!
